Translating of Abbreviations in the Diplomatic Field from English Language into Arabic Language

Translation and diplomatic coexist in harmony since a long time ago, because the importance of the foreign language used by the diplomat, which contributes to understand the messages, bringing the time cultures closer and strengthening the relations between the two countries. Generally, diplomatic representations of different countries require the use of two or more languages; therefore, the language that is used in the diplomatic field is in constant contact, which necessarily establishes a type of common diplomatic language.
Diplomatic language belongs to the category of special languages used in the social science. It is closely related to the history of diplomatic thought and the nature of diplomatic missions since it is considered as a language of protocols, official events and celebrations.
The classification of diplomatic translation comes among the most difficult types of translations due to the characteristics of the diplomatic language, which is filled with all sorts of rhetorical arts and specialized terms, and notably that come in the form of abbreviations that are related to the names of international organizations and bodies, the names of countries, and the names of diplomatic corps. Therefore, this article deals with the research of translating these abbreviations that are related to the diplomatic field from English language into Arabic language.
