Publishing Policies
Risalat Journal for Humanities and Social Research strive to develop the journal and ensure accuracy, objectivity, and quality in its publications. They work diligently to meet the needs of researchers and readers.
Research Submission
1. The journal accepts research papers submitted via email to the journal's email address (editor@rjhsr.com). Paper copies are not accepted.
2. The journal uses iThenticate or Turnitin software to detect plagiarism in research papers and other books, articles, and research papers.
Review Process
1. Submitted research papers and studies are published after review by specialists with extensive research experience and distinguished academic standing, who approve their publication.
2. The journal maintains a list of accredited reviewers in the journal's disciplines, and this list is continuously updated.
3. Reviewers are required to provide their written opinion on the research based on specific criteria, indicating its suitability for publication or suggesting publication after major or minor revisions, without personal criticism of the researcher. These criteria include, for example:
- The originality of the research and its scientific contribution to the field of specialization.
- The research methodology.
- Sources and footnotes.
- Soundness of structure, language, and conclusions.
4- The journal adopts a policy of double anonymity for both researchers and reviewers. This means that the identity of each party remains concealed from the other throughout all stages of the review process. Please ensure that nothing in the text, acknowledgments, footnotes, or appendices reveals the identity of the researchers. Confidentiality is maintained throughout the review process.
5- The journal employs at least two reviewers with expertise in the same field of study for each research paper. The reviewer's academic rank must be at least equal to that of the researcher (in the case of a single author) or one of the researchers (in the case of multiple authors). Furthermore, the reviewers must not have any conflict of interest whatsoever with the researchers or the research papers under review.
6- If the researcher or one of the researchers is from within the Sultanate of Oman, it is preferable that the reviewers be from outside the Sultanate. The editor-in-chief reserves the right to assess cases where certain research papers require review within the Sultanate.
Publication Decision
1- The editorial board may conduct a preliminary review of the research paper to determine its suitability for review. 2. The editor-in-chief will inform the researcher of the journal's decision to accept or reject the research within two weeks of the completion of the peer-review process.
3. The journal reserves the right to reject submitted research if it is incomplete or does not adhere to the journal's scientific publishing policies and ethics.
4. If a research paper is rejected, and the researcher wishes to obtain the reviewers' opinions, these will be provided upon request, without disclosing the reviewers' names and without any obligation to respond to the researcher's comments.
5. The researcher may not resubmit the same research paper to the journal, even if revisions have been made.
6. The researcher may request a review of the journal's decision to reject the research paper if there are sufficient objective reasons to support the request. The request should be sent to the journal's email address, addressed first to the editor-in-chief. If the rejection is repeated, the researcher may submit the request for review to the Scientific Publishing Board.
7. Research papers will not be returned to researchers, whether published or not.
1- If a researcher delays making the required revisions to their research for more than three months from the date of receiving the journal's response, this will be considered a withdrawal of the research unless the researcher provides a valid excuse acceptable to the journal's editorial board.
2- The journal may delete any material that does not affect the core of the research or modify the linguistic style to conform to the rules of publication, artistic presentation, and linguistic accuracy. It may also add footnotes for clarification as needed.
3- If the researcher discovers any material error or inaccuracy in the published research, they are obligated to notify the journal as soon as possible and cooperate with it to correct the error or withdraw the research. If the journal is notified by a third party of material errors or inaccuracies in the research, the researcher will be notified to correct the errors or withdraw the research.
Copyright
1- The journal owns the copyright to the research published in it.
2- A researcher may obtain written permission from the journal's management if they wish to republish their research with another entity, provided that three years have passed since the publication date in the journal.
3. Research previously published by the journal may be republished—in print or electronically—without requiring the researcher's permission. The journal also has the right to allow others to include its research in various databases, whether for a fee or free of charge.
4. Researchers may publish summaries of their accepted research in daily or weekly newspapers, on websites, or at conferences and seminars, provided they indicate that the research has been accepted for publication in the journal.
5. Researchers may submit their research to the journal for an award or promotion, provided that the awarding body does not publish it without prior written permission from the journal. The research must clearly state that it was published in the journal, including details of the publication.
6. Researchers may publish their research on any website after its publication in the journal.
Financial Aspects
1. Researchers are responsible for the journal's publication fees.
2. The journal does not pay financial compensation for published material unless commissioned by the journal.
3. The journal does not accept or publish commercial advertisements.
Criticism and Correction
1- The journal welcomes objective reviews and criticisms of its published material and is prepared to publish suitable submissions.
2- The journal is prepared to correct any information or data it finds inaccurate. It will not hesitate to withdraw any research paper found to have violated its publication policies and will issue an apology to its readers if necessary.
Breach of Commitment
The journal follows swift procedures and measures in the event of a breach of commitment by a researcher, or if any ethical issues arise concerning submitted research, even if discovered years after publication.
1- If the journal determines that a submitted research paper has been previously published in print or electronically, either before or after submission, the author will be barred from future publication in this journal and in journals of the Scientific Publishing Council. The author's affiliated organization will also be notified.
